The Blue Mountains Province is located in the southeast corner of the state, south of the Snake River. The majority of the Blue Mountains lie within Oregon. Within the rain shadow of the Cascade Range, its arid climate supports a unique ecosystem that differs greatly from mountain ranges to the west.
