Big fat tires and a lead foot results in quickly worn tread. Nope, it also happens to me all the time. The cooling system is the Achilles heel of all BMWs, so it's best to keep an eye on it.

The z3 has probably hit the bottom of its depreciation curve though and nicer examples are getting more expensive in recent years. The nicest z3 (m-coupe with the s54 engine) is going for upwards of $50k in nice condition/low miles.
