Bobby Ray Simmons Jr. (born November 15, 1988), known professionally as B.o.B, is an American rapper, singer, and record producer. Raised in Decatur, Georgia, Simmons signed with producer Jim Jonsin through his Rebel Rock Entertainment label in 2006.
Born Bobby Ray Simmons, Jr., he gained widespread popularity with "Nothin' on You" and "Airplanes," which became a #1 hit on the U.K. Billboards. He played the trumpet at Georgia High School, and met his mentor, B. Rich, when he was 14. He was nominated for five Grammy Awards in 2011, including Record of the Year and Best Rap Album.
