When your child is at least age 5 and outgrows the forward-facing car seat with harness, use a booster seat in the back seat. Use a booster seat until the belt fits correctly. A booster seat is often needed until 4ft 9 in (57” or 145 cm) tall. Your child may be 12 years old before ready for an adult safety belt.

19 Σεπ 2014 · A booster seat should place the vehicle seat belt across the strongest points of the child’s body — across the hips and the center of the shoulder. While that seems simple enough, we find that caregivers struggle to adjust their child’s booster seat to fit them properly.
Your child should use a booster seat until they are tall enough to pass all the requirements of the seat belt test - their feet should reach the floor, knees should be over the edge of the seat, and the vehicle seat belt should fit appropriately across their collar bone and around their lap.
For small babies, rolled up receiving blankets can be placed on either side of the head and body for support (Picture 6). Never place anything behind the child’s back or under the child unless it comes with the car seat.
Booster Seat With High Back: This type of booster seat is designed to boost the child’s height so the seat belt fits properly. It also provides neck and head support and is ideal for vehicles that don’t have head rests or high seat backs.
