A large number of international Scout and Guide units from different countries are active in Germany. Most of them developed on military bases, but there are also some at international schools or connected to diplomatic missions.
The new formation was called the Malayan Scouts (SAS) (Footnote #181: The Malayan Scouts wore shoulder titles on their olive-green jungle uniforms, and under the titles were the green patch and yellow kris (S-bladed Malay dagger) of the Malaya military command.) and the first recruits to the new unit were formed into A Squadron, The Malayan Scouts.
German Scout Uniforms: Garments. Figure 1.--These German Scouts at a camp wear traditional Scout uniforms with berets. Before the War, the beret was primarily a French garment. After the War it became popular in Scouing. The photograph was probably taken in the 1970s.
5 Αυγ 2007 · In Germany, Baden-Powell's book "Scouting for Boys" was translated in 1909 by the military physician Alexander Lion, who came up with the word Pfadfinder (literally, "path finder) for "scout."
