13 Σεπ 2012 · World’s earliest colour moving images on view. The world’s earliest colour film footage is seen in motion for the first time in over a century at Bradford’s National Media Museum. We sat in the editing suite entranced as full-colour shots made 110 years ago came to life on the screen.
Bradford was home to some of the earliest pioneers of cinema and the location of many classic films. The city’s cinema history reaches back to the 1890s. As a result, Bradford was awarded the status title of Bradford UNESCO City of Film.
The museum organised and held four major film events every year: Bradford International Film Festival, Bradford Animation Festival, Bite the Mango and Fantastic Films Weekend. These attracted international speakers and new and classic works from around the world.
