Brass is a non-ferrous red metal made mostly of copper and zinc. Different amounts of copper and zinc can achieve various mechanical and electrical qualities. The amounts of copper and zinc are adjusted to produce a variety of brasses. Modern brass is composed of 67% copper and 33% zinc.
