Fly is a character driven episode. You’ll see a bunch of egg heads praise it for that reason. But if you watched the Sopranos or the Wire, you’ll realize why Fly sucks so much. It breaks up the very thing that distinguishes Breaking Bad from its competition— the insane plot. In that one episode it’s just a poor man’s “Pine Barrens”.

“Fly” is hands down one of my favorite TV episodes ever. It’s such a well executed contained story in a usually serious show, and featured funny, heartfelt, and reflective moments with the show’s two main characters which makes it one of TV’s best in my opinion.
