Dividing an engine’s cc measurement by 15 will yield a rough approximation of its horsepower. To illustrate: 125 / 15 = 8.3 (8 hp) 140 / 15 = 9.3 (9 hp) A lawnmower engine with a cc range between 125 and 140 will run between 8 and 9 HP (horsepower).
