9 Σεπ 2009 · Mastiff 2 succeeds the Mastiff protected patrol vehicle (PPV). It is based on the US Cougar, but is fitted with additional features to suit the requirements of UK forces. Cougar is a family of armoured vehicles built for the US Marine Corps in 2004.
The Cougar is a mine-resistant ambush-protected (MRAP) and infantry mobility vehicle structured to be resistant to landmines and improvised munitions. It is a family of armored vehicles produced by Force Protection Inc, which manufactures ballistic and mine-protected vehicles. The vehicles are integrated by Spartan Motors. [3] .

3 Ιουν 2024 · Mastiff 2 is a heavily armored, 6 x 6 wheel-drive patrol vehicle that carries eight people, plus two crew. The vehicles are based on the US Cougar made by Force Protection, with the UK integration work carried out by NP Aerospace, based in Coventry.
The base Mastiff vehicle is supplied by FP Inc and retrofitted by NP Aerospace in Coventry, integrating electronics and the UK armour package. The latest Mastiff MK3 remains essentially the as earlier versions but with changes to performance, interior, and accessibility.
