The Brockport Museum of Local History, formerly the Emily Knapp Museum, is located in the Village of Brockport, situated on the Erie Canal in the state of New York. The mission of the museum — an educational institution — is to collect, preserve, and provide access to the heritage and history of the greater Brockport community.

The Brockport Community Museum is a “Museum Without Walls” that brings local history into the community. It was chartered by the New York State Education Department in 2002.
The Landmark Society is a host of Western New York history. The Western Monroe Historical Society organizes events, peddlers’ markets, and gives tours of the historic Morgan Manning House in Brockport. The Seymour Library’s Local History room has a collection of area plot maps, local history titles, and other Brockport historical information.
Brockport’s pedestrian friendly downtown of small shops and restaurants is listed on the National Register of Historic places. The Village prides itself on its public art, its Canalfront Welcome Center staffed by volunteers who greet boaters and Erie Canal cyclists, and its nine public parks.
