The usual dose for budesonide inhalers as a preventer for asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is 1 or 2 puffs, once or twice a day. Your doctor or asthma nurse may tell you to have more than 2 puffs at a time from your inhaler.
For inhalation dosage form (powder inhaler): Adults and children 6 years of age and older—At first, one or two puffs two times a day. Your doctor may increase your dose as needed. Children younger than 6 years of age—Use and dose must be determined by your doctor. For inhalation dosage form (suspension in a nebulizer):

Budesonide-formoterol 80/4.5 mcg and 160/4.5 mcg: Recommended dose: 2 inhalations orally twice daily; Maximum dose: 2 inhalations twice daily; Budesonide-formoterol 100/6 mcg and 200/6 mcg: ASTHMA MAINTENANCE: 1 to 2 inhalations orally once or twice daily.

Pulmicort Flexhaler is for use in adults and children at least 6 years old. Pulmicort Respules is for use in children 12 months to 8 years old. Budesonide may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.
28 Αυγ 2023 · The maximum recommended dose of the budesonide is 1mg/day if prior asthma treatment included inhaled or oral corticosteroids and 0.5mg/day for children that previously received therapy with bronchodilators alone.
Budesonide comes as a powder to inhale by mouth using an inhaler and as a suspension to inhale by mouth using a special jet nebulizer (machine that turns medication into a mist that can be inhaled). Budesonide powder for oral inhalation is usually inhaled twice a day.
