28 Αυγ 2023 · A starting dose of 360 mcg (maximum dose) two times a day may be appropriate for some pediatric patients. For adults (>18 years of age), the recommended starting dose is 360 mcg two times per day. For some adult patients, a starting dose of 180 mcg two times a day may be adequate.
The usual dose for budesonide inhalers as a preventer for asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is 1 or 2 puffs, once or twice a day. Your doctor or asthma nurse may tell you to have more than 2 puffs at a time from your inhaler.
Adults and children 6 years of age and older—At first, one or two puffs two times a day. Your doctor may increase your dose as needed. Children younger than 6 years of age—Use and dose must be determined by your doctor. For inhalation dosage form (suspension in a nebulizer):
asthma medications, particularly inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) medications, and oral corticosteroids (OCS) if prescribed . Asthma medications should be continued as usual during the COVID-19 pandemic. This includes ICS-containing medications (alone or in combination), and add-on therapy including biologic therapy for severe asthma.
