Harpie bug swarms are mid-level slayer monsters that require a Slayer level of 33 to kill. A lit bug lantern, which requires a Firemaking level of 33 to light, is required to damage these monsters (the lantern must be lit and equipped).
The lit bug lantern is an item used in the Slayer skill. It requires level 33 Slayer to wield and must be equipped in order to fight Harpie Bug Swarms. Level 33 Firemaking and a tinderbox are required to light the unlit lantern.
Questlist that unlock slayer monsters. Unfinished quests. Fever spiders: started Rum Deal. Suqahs: started Lunar Diplomacy. Dust devils: started Desert Treasure. Scabarites: most of the Contact! quest. Dark beasts: progressing through Mourning's Ends Part II to the point where the player can access the tunnels is also required.
Before you get started with Slayer, you should complete the Varrock Museum Quiz and the quest ‘A porcine of Interest’ this will boost you all the way to level 13 slayer. If you have the requirements, you should also knock out other quests to quickly make your way through the initial levels of slayer (which can be quite boring).

Are there any quests that unlock annoying slayer tasks that I should watch out for before I have my full block list set up? Edit: ITT - every single quest I’ve done apparently. Rum Deal/Cabin fever gives cave horrors/fever spiders/jungle horrors. Olaf's Quest gives brine rats.
