The quality and type of your gas fire pit insert will vary according to your needs. You will have three parts to assemble – the burner (for flame output), the burner pan (to support the burner), and plumbing components (to control the gas fuel and to ignite the gas flame).
There are two options when choosing a burner for your propane fire pit or table. You can go with just a fire pit burner ring by itself, or a drop-in burner pan fire pit kit, which includes the burner mounted in a drop-in burner pan (but this “kit” does not include other necessary components).
Burner rings provide a flexible option for many fire pits, such as a fire pit made with pavers or a custom fire bowl. These rings are reversible, meaning you can install the burner with the holes facing upward or downward.
There are three possible routes for the gas line to the fire pit: about 25 feet off the end of the 1.25" pipe (has to exit the house, short trench) about 75 feet off a tee on the meter (more difficult to trench, fully outside)
