This article unveils the prospects and challenges of Nigeria’s business environment for potential micro, small and medium scale enterprises (MSMEs) and academics. It is essentially an analytical article, but enriched with secondary data from previous studies and surveys on Nigeria.
There are so many small scale business units in Nigeria which qualifies within this context most of them are in the commercial sector. However a 6 common trend in Nigeria today is the gradual classification of service provider, hotels, fast food and restaurants as small and medium scale enterprises.

This prompted this study on fuel scarcity and business growth in Nigeria from 2005 to 2015. Specifically, the study ascertained the extent to which fuel supply has affected profitability of SMEs in Nigeria from 2005 to 2015. The paper is anchored on the ‘Demand and Supply Theory’.
