15 Οκτ 2014 · The "Common Files" folder holds common folders and files of different apps. These files are shared files so that other apps/programs can use these files and their functions. The majority of the programs put their common files under one folder called "Common Files".
Some of these files are for camera codec, Office set-ups and divers, extensions, themes, and basically important files to keep your computer working properly and safely. This probably why it's in the Windows (C:) folder.

Familiarize yourself with common system folders like ‘Program Files’ and ‘Windows’. Use Disk Cleanup to free up space on your C Drive efficiently.

7 Ιουν 2021 · If you want to see the list of paths available such as %AppData% and similar then simply open a command prompt and type set. You will see something like. ALLUSERSPROFILE=C:\ProgramData. APPDATA=C:\Users\<your user profile>\AppData\Roaming. CommonProgramFiles=C:\Program Files\Common Files.
30 Μαρ 2022 · This is the case with the C:\Program Files\Common Files folder. This is useful to module authors, as they then know a reliable location to find their dependencies without having to include them in the module, unnecessarily increasing module size.
29 Μαρ 2022 · The C:\Program Files directory is for programs in the native system bitness, and the the C:\Program Files (x86) directory is for programs that run under the x86-32 emulator. But why are they separate directories? Why can’t we combine them?
