Brightline West is a privately run high-speed rail route, currently under construction, to link the Las Vegas Valley and Rancho Cucamonga in Greater Los Angeles through the California high desert. The line will connect with existing rail at Rancho Cucamonga station of Metrolink 's San Bernardino Line , a commuter rail line in Southern California.
At 186+ miles per hour, trains will take passengers from Las Vegas, NV, to Southern California in 2 hours and 10 minutes, twice as fast as the average drive time. Brightline West broke ground in early 2024 and is expected to take approximately four years to build.
As of the time of writing, the current plans for the train include four stops, which will be Las Vegas, Victor Valley, Hesperia, and Rancho Cucamonga. These stops are planned to help aid the traffic of travelers coming to and from Las Vegas.
