You use the California Dream Act Application to apply for California state financial aid, such as UC Grants, State University Grants, California Promise Grant and Cal Grants.
Completion of the California Dream Act Application is required to determine state financial aid for eligible California AB 540 students. Your application will be processed by the California Student Aid Commission.
All students must complete either the FAFSA or CADAA to be considered for government student aid. The 2024–25 California Dream Act Application (CADAA) is now available to applicants online. The priority deadline is May 2, 2024.

What is the CADAA? • The California Dream Act Application (CADAA) allows undocumented and nonresident documented students who meet certain eligibility requirements to apply for state financial aid such as the Cal Grant and Chafee Grant. • Students who complete the CADAA are not eligible for federal financial aid, like the Pell Grant.
