The Mk III Helmet is a steel military combat helmet that was first developed for the British Army in 1941 by the Medical Research Council. They were issued to troops in April 1944 and then worn in combat for the first time by British and Canadian troops on D-Day .

13 Νοε 2018 · The Mk3 and Mk4 are almost identical but the rivets on the Mk4 are lower down the side of the helmet and the liner is a attached with the detachable lift and dot release principle. Here are images of the Mk3 and Mk4 helmets below the x shaped rubber is missing from the Mk3 liner image.

25 Απρ 2022 · General Information: The British Mark III was designed to address deficiencies of its predecessor, the Mark II, which was basically the same helmet used in the First World War. That helmet had been effective in preventing injuries in trench warfare conditions where shrapnel falling from above was the main hazard.
Produced from November, 1943, the MKIII helmet was first issued to assault troops of the British 3rd Infantry Division and Canadian army personnel in time for the Invasion of Normandy. Although this helmet was to replace the MKII, substantial quantities of the older helmet remained in service even after the end of the Second World War.
