Cardiac arrhythmia, caused by disruption of the coordinated electrical activity of heart, is among the leading causes of sudden cardiac death in United States. 1 Intracellular calcium dynamics in cardiac cells have been recognized as an important contributor in life-threatening ventricular arrhythmia (ventricular tachycardia and ventricular ...
9 Ιουν 2017 · In this review article, we will first review the key role of Ca 2+ in normal cardiac function—in particular, excitation–contraction coupling and normal electric rhythms.
Calcium ions (Ca 2+) play a major role in the cardiac excitation-contraction coupling. Intracellular Ca 2+ concentration increases during systole and falls in diastole thereby determining cardiac contraction and relaxation.
10 Ιαν 2022 · Certain vitamin deficiencies or overdoses — like potassium and magnesium — can cause heart palpitations. Getting enough vitamins and minerals helps your body function at its best. But complications can ensue if you get too much or too little of a particular nutrient.
11 Ιαν 2002 · Calcium plays two pivotal roles in cardiac excitation-contraction (E-C) coupling. 1 Ca 2+ drives myofilament activation and carries or regulates ionic currents that are responsible for normal electrical rhythms 2 as well as life-threatening arrhythmias. 3 In this editorial, I will focus on Ca 2+ and pacemaker activity and arrhythmogenesis.
15 Ιαν 2019 · Magnesium and calcium may influence the risk of atrial fibrillation (AF), the most common cardiac arrhythmia and a leading cause of ischemic stroke, heart failure, and cardiac death.
1 Ιουν 2022 · Calcium and magnesium could influence the risk of atrial fibrillation which is the leading cause of cardiac death, heart failure and ischemic stroke.
