Reliable Digit Span (RDS) is a heavily researched symptom validity test with a recent literature review yielding more than 20 studies ranging in dates from 1994 to 2011. Unfortunately, limitations within some of the research minimize clinical generalizability.
1 Ιαν 2018 · Most digit span tests contain two, sequentially presented parts: digit span forward and digit span backward. Digit span forward involves the immediate, rote recall of orally presented numerical sequences and is considered a measure of short-term memory.
1 Ιουν 2020 · The aim of this study is to evaluate the effects of working memory load in impulsivity during decision-making processes. A delayed discounting (DD) paradigm was used, comparing children with ADHD and age-matched controls.
1 Ιαν 2024 · There was no association between any memory measure (digit span or RAVLT) and ADHD severity (score on ADHD Rating Scale) or depression rating (score on the IDS-C30). Effect sizes were small, ranging from 0.02 to -0.16 for the ADHD Rating Scale total score and -0.02 to 0.14 for the IDS, (Table 4).
Digit span backward involves similar, orally presented numerical sequences, but is interpreted as a measure of working memory because it requires respondents to recall digits in reverse serial order (e.g., 5-2-7 is correctly recalled as 7-2-5).
Aims: The current study pilot-tested minor administration/scoring modifications to improve digit span backward's construct and predictive validities in a well-characterized sample of children with ADHD.
14 Απρ 2022 · This study investigated the utility of four WAIS-IV Digit Span (DS) indices (traditional Reliable Digit Span [RDS], RDS-Working Memory [RDS-WM], RDS-Revised [RDS-R], and DS Age-Corrected Scaled Score [ACSS]) as embedded performance validity tests (PVTs) among a sample of 342 consecutive adults referred for neuropsychological evaluation of ADHD.
