The CA Dream Act Application (CADAA) is California’s state financial aid application operated by CSAC that allows undocumented students to receive free financial aid such as: state and university grants, community college fee waivers, Cal Grants, and private scholarships.

The California Dream Act Application allows students interested in attending eligible California Colleges, Universities and Career Education Programs to apply for state financial aid. This application is unrelated to the federal Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.

In 2006, the California DREAM Act was proposed in the form of SB 160. Under SB 160, students who were eligible for in-state tuition would have been given access to public financial assistance (undocumented students had already been eligible for private assistance) for higher education at California State Colleges and Universities.
The California Dream Acts allows California students who cannot get financial aid from the federal government and meet other specific requirements to apply for state financial aid so they can attend some California colleges, universities, and Career Education Programs.
