Content Area: History–Social Science. Grade: 1. Course: A Child’s Place in Time and Space, Grade 1. Overarching Standard: HSS-1.4 Students compare and contrast everyday life in different times and places around the world and recognize that some aspects of people, places, and things change over time while others stay the same.
Standard: By the end of year, read and comprehend informational texts, including history/ social studies, science, and technical texts, in the grades 2–3 text complexity band proficiently, with scaffolding as needed at the high end of the range.
