8 Σεπ 2017 · Even though your iPad has cell data service, it cannot send/receive SMS on the voice network. Its cell service is for internet access only. For iMessages, sent to your Apple ID (email), the situation is different. All devices logged in to Messages using your Apple ID will receive those messages.
