What is a low dose statin? In the UK there are five statins available on prescription: atorvastatin; fluvastatin; pravastatin; rosuvastatin; simvastatin. Some statins are stronger at lowering your cholesterol than other statins at the same dose. For example, 10mg of atorvastatin has a stronger cholesterol-lowering effect than 10mg of simvastatin.
