12 Δεκ 2023 · To remove the conditions on your permanent resident status, you must file Form I-751. If you are filing jointly, you and your spouse or stepparent must file Form I-751 together. You may file Form I-751 on your own if you are applying for a joint filing waiver.
Form I-751, the petition you file with USCIS to remove the residence conditions from your green card, is the application used by conditional green card holders to remove these conditions and obtain a full ten-year green card.
17 Οκτ 2023 · If the you fail to file Form I-751 (Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence) before your green card expires, you can lose your resident status. Without a valid immigration status, immigration enforcement has the authority to remove you from the United States.
If you are a condition resident, you'll file Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence, in the 90-day period before your card expires. If properly filed, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) will initially respond by mailing you a receipt notice that confirms receipt of your petition.
Conditional green cards cannot be renewed, making filing Form I-751 necessary to remove conditions on the residence of a conditional green card holder. According to the USCIS, conditional residents must file the form within 90 days before their conditional residence expires.
