From Troy, travel on NC 109N for 10 miles and turn left onto Mullinix Road (NC 1154). Follow Mullinix Road for about 2 miles to a "T" intersection. Turn right at "T" onto FR 544 (McLeans Creek Road) and travel about one-quarter mile to the campground on the right.
Canebrake Horse Camp lies in the Badin Lake Recreation Area, a hub for outdoor activities in central North Carolina's Uwharrie National Forest. The facility is a scenic and restful overnight spot with both single and double campsites.
Canebrake Horse Camp has 28 sites available to the public arranged around two loops. All sites have electrical hookups (50 amp, 30 amp & 110 volt outlets), picnic table, grill, campfire ring and lantern post.
