The Vaires-sur-Marne Nautical Stadium will host the Olympic rowing and canoe-kayak events, and the Paralympic Para rowing and Para canoe-kayak events at the Vaires-Torcy leisure complex in 2024.
Canoe slalom is contested by two types of boats, a canoe (C) and a kayak (K). An athlete knees in a canoe and propels the boat with the single-blade paddle. An athlete uses the double-bladed paddle in a seated position in a kayak.
The Paris 2024 Olympic Games canoe slalom competition will be held from Saturday 27 July 2024 to Monday 5 August 2024 at the Vaires-sur-Marne Nautical Stadium – White water stadium. This competition will consist of the following six (6) events: MEDAL EVENTS Total number of medal events: 6 MEN (3) → Kayak Single (MK1) → Canoe Single (MC1)
Canoe Slalom is a race against the clock through a combination of up and downstream gates on a whitewater course. The course length and number of gates varies with a maximum of 25 gates for canoe and kayak events and eight gates for Kayak Cross.
The Hellinikon Olympic Canoe/Kayak Slalom Centre is located in the Hellinicon Olympic Complex in Athens, Greece. The venue hosted the canoe slalom events for the 2004 Summer Olympics.
Canoe slalom sees competitors navigate a whitewater course - up to 300 metres in length - by passing through a maximum 25 upstream and downstream gates in as quick a time as possible.
