12 Δεκ 2018 · I've already done the "usual" fixes: Remove the batteries and wait a few minutes. Try pressing and holding the Menu, Function, Function Set, or OK while turning on the camera, or otherwise find a "factory reset" option. Try turning the camera on without a memory card inserted.
In 2013, the G12 model was replaced by the Canon PowerShot G16, the latest in Canon's G series. In 2011, there was a minor issue which was resolved through contact with the manufacturer in which the zoom and setting buttons were sticking due to an internal hardware issue.
Sometimes, it could be something unrelated to the battery. It could be the circuit that connects the battery with the camera’s screen, lens, and flash. In this case, the circuit connector may need to be replaced.
25 Φεβ 2013 · I googled, 'canon powershot G12+lens error' and it brought up a lot of things about that particular lens assembly on the G9 thru G12, plus S series. The G15 assembly has been corrected so it won't happen.
The only easy way to repair that camera is to hunt the whole lens part of the G12 in eBay, Aliexpress, etc and then disassemble the camera and change that part. It should be easier than trying to repair the lens unit.
