Of particular importance in SPRI's collections are the negatives and early prints of the photographs taken during the British Antarctic Expedition, 1910–13. This expedition was led by Captain Robert Falcon Scott who was a proponent of scientific research.
1 Δεκ 2022 · That's not Scott in 1912, not his ship. It's the Belgica 1897 to 1899. The Belgica had Roald Amundsen on board who was friends with their excellent photographer. Why only told 4 was going to Antarctica, the sponsors and crew all believed he was doing an Arctic exploration.
