7 Σεπ 2017 · Located less than two miles from the intersection of NC107 and US64 in Cashiers, Cashier’s version of sliding rock is easily accessed. While not worth the long drive in and of itself, you could add it to a trip to Silver Run Falls or High Falls as a side trip.
Cashiers Sliding Rock Falls, not to be confused with Sliding Rock north of Brevard, is a great local swimming hole for families. It was formed over time by the headwater of the Chattooga River flowing over the rockface. At the bottom of the slide, you’ll find a nice sand-bottom swimming area.

Cashiers Sliding Rock really isn’t anyone’s idea of a waterfall, but with its natural slide, potholes, beach and pool of icy mountain water that’s perfect for swimming, it’s heaps of fun.
The trailhead for the Summey Cove Trail is on L next to bridge; hike 0.2 mi. and turn L on Courthouse Falls trail, which descends 0.1 mi. to the 60 ft. falls. Return to NC 215, turn L (S), cont. for 10.7 mi. and turn R (W) on US 64 to return to Cashiers.
