3 Μαρ 2021 · The Catanduanes Tribune marks its 40 th year in community journalism today, March 3, 2021. What it has undergone in the past four decades can probably be enough for two or three books. But the untimely demise of its founding publisher, Fredeswindo T. Gianan Sr., in May 2000 seals forever in his memory a large part of the Tribune’s history.

From the first 1981 issue, the Tribune has emerged as the most reliable, fair and crusading newspaper in the history of Catanduanes, earning its publisher The Outstanding Catandunganon Award in 1998.

3 Μαρ 2021 · Forty years after its first post-Martial Law copy appeared in the streets of Virac and other towns, the Catanduanes Tribune celebrates its foundation anniversary today, March 3, 2021.
15 Δεκ 2023 · As a way of commemorating Virac’s feast day this coming December 8, we offer in this occasional column a presentation on\f exemplar political leadership in the municipality within almost two centuries, 1755-1952, as narrated in a set of primary documents called the Historical Data Papers or HDP.
The liberation of Catanduanes took place at what is now the present municipal building and the Virac Parish Cathedral. On February 8, 1945, the local guerrillas gained full control of the Japanese barracks.
