Judo emphasizes on throws, while Catch wrestling focuses on submissions. So which is better for self defense? I guess judo because you wouldnt wanna go to the ground in a street fight and just throw the fucker. Besides the gi and belt system what is the difference between the two?
People talk about how much deeper the talent pool in wrestling and judo is compared to BJJ, but the situation is a hundred times as bad for catch. In principle there's no reason catch couldn't produce really good grapplers, there just aren't enough people doing it.
