15 Δεκ 2023 · Causes. Tachycardia is an increased heart rate for any reason. If a fast heart rate is caused by exercise or stress, it's called sinus tachycardia. Sinus tachycardia is a symptom, not a condition. Most heart conditions can lead to different forms of tachycardia. Irregular heart rhythms, called arrhythmias, are one cause.
For teenagers, the number is 90 beats/minute. Tachycardia is an arrhythmia, or abnormal heart beat, and some types need no treatment at all or may go away on their own. Other tachycardias are more serious and can cause problems for children. A few are even genetic, and we can trace them in families.
