21 Ιουλ 2022 · To deal with the teacher shortage, state lawmakers passed a bill that went into effect July 1 that allows retired teachers to return to the classroom without losing their retirement benefits. For at least one retired Memphis teacher, that’s all he needed to hear.
The Teacher Deferred Retirement Option Plan gives members with 28-30 years of service credit an incentive to continue to work in the public schools by allowing the member to build a savings account for when they are ready to leave the workforce.
