15 Ιουν 2007 · Objective —To assess response rate, median duration of response, adverse effects, and prognostic factors associated with concurrent administration of lomustine and prednisone as a first-line treatment for dogs with multicentric lymphoma. Design —Retrospective case series. Animals —17 dogs.
This consists of five or six treatments with doxorubicin (30mg/m2 or 1mg/kg if less than 15kg) as a single agent given once every three weeks. The advantages are reduced visits, reduced number of treatments and ease of only having to worry about one drug and its associated side effects.
Lomustine (brand names: Gleostine®, Ceenu®) is an antineoplastic (anticancer) chemotherapy used to treat brain and spinal cord tumors, mast cell tumors, histiocytic sarcomas, or lymphoma. Its use in cats and dogs to treat certain cancers is ‘off label’ or ‘extra label’.

Several rescue protocols exist and can be employed in the event of a relapse during or following CHOP-based chemotherapy.
