5 Δεκ 2023 · 1 Citation. Explore all metrics. Abstract. We conducted a network meta-analysis to assess and rank the efficacy of different physical activities on motor function, social function, communication, and stereotyped behavior in children with autism spectrum disorder.
The evidence on exercise interventions to improve physical fitness, address obesity, and reduce autism-specific impairments in children and adolescents with ASDs is discussed. Limited evidence is currently available for exercise interventions in individuals with ASDs.
Considering the clinical importance of physical activity for children with ASD and their motor skill development, this systematic review with meta-analysis showed that the practice of physical activity had no statistically significant effect on their motor skills.
