Centrifuges employ a spinning rotor contained in a stationary housing to apply centrifugal forces to a rotated sample. Given enough time, many particles in complex suspensions will settle out. Small particles (ex Viruses) may not settle unless unless subjected to very high G forces.
The calculator below will convert g force (RCF) from revolutions per minute (RPM) or vice versa to achieve more precise experimental and quality control results that require centrifugation. Find the g force by entering the RPM and centrifuge rotor radius.
Study with Quizlet and memorize flashcards containing terms like What speed are we using in the classroom?, RPM stands for ...., 3 principles of balance for the centrifuge involve: 1, 2, 3..... and more.
8 Αυγ 2024 · The g to RPM Calculator is a tool that converts relative centrifugal force, measured in g-force, to revolutions per minute (RPM).
The G force RPM conversion formula is as follows: RCF = 1.118 * r * (rpm/1000) 2. RCF = Relative Centrifuge Force, in "g". r = Rotor radius, in "mm". rpm = Rotation speed, rotations per minute, in "rpm".
The relationship between RPM and RCF is as follows: g = (1.118 × 10-5) R S2. Where g is the relative centrifugal force, R is the radius of the rotor in centimeters, and S is the speed of the centrifuge in revolutions per minute.
