Medically tailored meals to meet the nutritional needs of your patients living with chronic and acute illnesses such as diabetes, hypertension, coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure, cancer, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and more. Ceres does not operate allergen free kitchens.
In order to receive CalFresh from Stanislaus County, here are some of the general requirements you must meet in order to be eligible. You may print out an application (SAWS 2 Plus) from the California Department of Social Services (CDSS)’s website here: English, Spanish Other Languages.
Apply on the website: http://www.ceresproject.org. Must be a resident of Marin or Sonoma Counties, In treatment for cancer, heart disease, hepatitis C or another serious condition, not receiving hospice care. Meals are available free of charge for families living at/below 200% of the federal poverty level and for a sliding scale above that.
Ceres Community Project's Youth Culinary & Gardening Volunteer Program engages youth ages 8th grade - 14 years old or older to grow food and prepare 100% organic whole food meals to clients in Sonoma and Marin County who are struggling because of a serious illness.
During the pandemic, Ceres’ meal service grew from 79,000 meals a year in 2019 to 215,000 meals in 2023. Medi-Cal eligibility = ability to serve more clients. Because of our leadership, California’s MediCal health plans can now offer and pay for meals like Ceres provides.
