13 Μαρ 2020 · VA ratings for upper extremity radiculopathy is rated pursuant to 38 C.F.R. § 4.124a, Diagnostic Code 8710, pertaining to neuralgia or paralysis of the upper radicular group (fifth and sixth cervicals). Neuralgia of the upper radicular group is rated based on paralysis under Diagnostic Code 8510.
Assign a rating of 100% for 6 months from the date of initial diagnosis. Six months following initial diagnosis, determine the appropriate disability rating by mandatory VA examination. Thereafter, rate the condition based on chronic residuals under the appropriate body system.
25 Σεπ 2024 · The VA typically rates cervical radiculopathy under the diagnostic codes for diseases of the peripheral nerves, specifically those affecting the upper radicular group (5th and 6th cervicals). The most commonly used codes are 8510, 8610, and 8710, which correspond to paralysis, neuritis, and neuralgia of the upper radicular group, respectively.
This 10 percent rating and the other partial ratings of 30 percent or less are to be combined with ratings for ankylosis, limited motion, nonunion or malunion, shortening, etc., subject, of course, to the amputation rule.

Those with cervical radiculopathy will be rated within the upper radicular group, middle radicular group, and lower radicular group which include the musculospiral nerve, median nerve, axillary nerve, the musculocutaneous nerve, the long thoracic nerve, and the ulnar nerve.
