The Gleim Flight Instructor Refresher Course (FIRC) is an FAA-approved online course (the first of its kind) that enables flight instructors to renew their CFI certificates online as prescribed by 14 CFR Sec. 61.197. Submit your 8710 Application in IACRA. Provide your IACRA information to Gleim. You will submit your FTN number and electronic copies of your CFI certificate and ID. Complete the Gleim Flight Instructor Refresher Course if you have not already done so. Receive access to your temporary certificate.

You can start your renewal at any time. However, it is essential to note that §61.197(b)(ii) states that “the approved flight instructor refresher course must be completed within the three calendar months preceding the expiration month of the current flight instructor certificate.”
Visit www.gleim.com and login to your FIRC course. Submit your FTN and Application ID to Gleim Publications along with your CFI Card and ID information to continue the renewal process.
