Change your password when: You think someone has stolen or gained access to your email account password. Your email provider has sent you a password reset link. You forgot your email account password. Change your password with your email provider.
From the Password security tile, select Change my password. On the Change your password page, enter your current password and then enter your new password. For additional security, select the optional checkbox which prompts you to update your password every 72 days. Select Save.
If you know your password, but just want to change it, go to account.microsoft.com Security tab, and select Change my password. If you know your username and password but they have stopped working, read My username and password have stopped working.
