We hear family matters, personal injury claims, commercial disputes, trust and estates issues, criminal cases, and landlord-tenant cases.
How to Apply for a Postponement or Excusal. If you have had no prior postponements, and would like to automatically file for your first postponement now, you can apply by phone at 1-800-449-2819 or on the web at www.nyjuror.gov. All applications for postponements must be submitted prior to the date of jury service.
22 Αυγ 2023 · Potential jurors are randomly selected from lists of registered voters, holders of drivers’ licenses or ID’s issued by the Division of Motor Vehicles, New York State income tax filers, recipients of unemployment insurance or family assistance, and from volunteers.
For information about jury service in the State of New York, including a Handbook explaining jury service and answering common questions, visit www.nyjuror.gov. Residents of New York County may be summoned to serve jury duty in trials, civil and criminal, in the County, or to serve on a grand jury.
