Except for the pawn, all the chess pieces can move both backward and forward in chess. Now let’s see along with pictures and in a little more detail how the chess pieces move.
Each player starts a chess game with 16 pieces. There are a total number of 32 pieces on the board. White and black both start the game with the following pieces:
THE QUEEN. The queen moves any number of squares vertically, horizontally or diagonally. She moves like a rook and bishop combined.
