21 Ιαν 2016 · My favorite food grade mineral oil to use for my cutting boards is the oil from Caren & Doucet. It’s nontoxic and food safe, vegan, with no dyes, odors, or added colors. It’s also thicker, yet somehow more penetrating, than most other oils on the market.
I use mineral oil and beeswax. Don’t buy “cutting board oil” as it’s a waste of money (ask me how I know). Use mineral oil found in the laxative section of target/Walmart, or buy a gallon off Amazon for same price DIY stores sell 12oz of “cutting board oil” for.

You can get food grade mineral oil from the pharmacy section of a Walmart for about 8$ for 500ml I believe. Mineral oil is enough to protect and maintain your board, but if you’d like you can also apply a mineral oil/beeswax finish on top.
You can get USP food-grade mineral oil in any pharmacy - look in the laxatives aisle. Paraffin (or bee's) wax is another alternative you could try; melt it on with a heat gun and scrape off any excess.
