The historic address, 2120 S. Michigan Ave, houses the only Blues Museum in Chicago, as well as the Blues Heaven Gallery where many photographers have displayed their work. We are open 12-4 Tuesday through Saturday, with tours every hour on the hour.

Michigan Ave. It is a small, non-descript building that houses a lot of blues history. We watched a video about Willie Dixon and Chess Records which lasted about an hour. Afterward, Willie's grandson answered all of our questions concerning his grandfather and other blues musicians who played there.
Chess Records was based at several different locations on the south side of Chicago, Illinois. The most famous location was 2120 S. Michigan Avenue from around 1956 to 1967. During those years, Willie Dixon, Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley, Sonny Boy Williamson II, and so many more, were recorded in the legendary studio.
5 Ιουν 2023 · Currently, Willie Dixon’s Blues Heaven Foundation (2120 S. Michigan Avenue) is the only active blues Museum in Chicago. It is located at the historic Chess Records building, where you can tour the historic recording studio and see artifacts from Willie Dixon and Muddy Waters.
Visitors to the Chicago Blues Museum can explore the evolution of blues music, learn about influential artists, and immerse themselves in the soulful sounds that have shaped the city's musical landscape.
