In this chapter we review major conclusions from both traditions about cognitive development in school-age children. The study of cognitive development, especially in school-age children, has been one of the central focuses of developmental research over the last 25 years.
13 Απρ 2020 · Our understanding of how brain development changes during the early school years is expanding rapidly. Today’s generation of children is the first to grow up in a time when tools such as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and wearable brain-wave sensors are widely available.

The science of early brain development can inform investments in early childhood. These basic concepts, established over decades of neuroscience and behavioral research, help illustrate why child development—particularly from birth to five years—is a foundation for a prosperous and sustainable society.
