22 Μαΐ 2023 · The game will crash on startup if you have more than 16 cores. It use to work for me, I added a 2nd CPU on my motherboard, never could play again. I recently upgraded to at 24 cores i9-13900k, still won't launch. Fortunately, there are ways to make the app think that you have fewer cores.

However, for those of you who can't run games in Windows 10, please try running Uplay and Steam in compatability mode as described on the Windows 10 support site here [www.windows10forums.com] .
Windows would no longer start and in safe mode I could not access msconfig again. After a few hours I just let windows boot normally: it took several hours for windows to actually boot but then I was able to change msconfig back to auto. So while Nashiem's fix might work, use with a lot of caution. #10.
