Overview of the Issue. According to the Center for Disease Control's most recent data, the prevalence of obesity is now 18.5% among youth (compared to 39.8% in adults). This statistic is slightly higher (20.6%) if one considers adolescents aged 12-19.
However, the question of whether school interventions, especially school education exert significant impact on childhood obesity or not, is left with mixing results. This article aims to holistically review the relationship between school education and childhood obesity.
